Another edition of PV NY ended this Wednesday at Center 415, and Familitex, Lemar, and TMR composed the From Portugal delegation. The trio expressed positivity in their assessment of the event regarding their participation and business prospects.
“Although the size fair is small, our expectations exceeded. The influx of visitors was very good, both in terms of quantity and quality of buyers”, considers Diana Barbosa, purchasing director at Familitex.
TMR also makes a very positive assessment of the New York fair, which according to Miguel Máximo, the company’s quality manager, made it possible to contact “interesting customers”. “Presence at this fair is extremely relevant for the company’s image and credibility, both in this and in other markets. Customers know and respect ‘made in Portugal’. We even had a client from Canada who tried to visit us at PV Paris, but we were always busy, and he ended up coming to PV NY”, he adds.
Like the other Portuguese exhibitors, Lemar also considers that this edition of PV Paris was “above expectations”. “We had a good batch of contacts in addition to the traditional customers. We are satisfied”, says Armindo Araújo, the company’s CEO.
The participation of Portuguese SME companies in PV NY is an initiative of Selectiva Moda and ATP – Associação Têxtil e Vestuário de Portugal, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese companies in the fashion area. The “From Portugal” project is co-financed by Portugal 2020, within the scope of Compete 2020 – Competitiveness and Internationalization Operational Program and Lisbon 2020 – Lisbon Regional Operational Program, with an eligible support amount of €6,648,794.78, of which €3,735,305.80 come from the European Union, through the European Regional Development Fund.
