MT60: FILASA DEVELOPS BAMBOO AND SOYBEAN CHARCOAL YARN

“Make better choices” is the concept behind Filasa’s new collection of yarns. The collection results in a curious mixture of bamboo charcoal and soy. After traveling to important international fairs (such as PV Paris), it will be at the 60th edition of MODTISSIMO, on the 6th and 7th of September at Exponor, in Matosinhos.

“In this collection, as usual, we will maintain our environmental, social, and economic sustainability ideals through our products. The goal is to change mentalities and raise awareness. We seek to create new mixes between sustainable materials, such as recycled, natural and innovative fibers, duly certified”, explains Sara Leite, from the company’s marketing department.

However, from the various star products, it is worth highlighting “the yarn blended with bamboo charcoal and soy. Bamboo charcoal comes, as the name implies, from the fast-growing bamboo plant. Carbonization isn’t harmful to the environment since it results from a closed cycle process. By so, it is an antibacterial, biodegradable, and deodorant fiber that protects from radiation and offers softness and comfort. Soy-blended yarns are resistant to UV rays, are antimicrobial, have a cashmere-like feel, have an absorption rate similar to cotton, and have the tensile strength”, describes Sara Leite.

In this phase of launching MODTISSIMO 60, interested parties already have at their disposal the registration form that will give them access to what someone said that was “the heart of fashion, which beats in Porto”.
