MODTISSIMO GAINS MUSCLE WITH RETURN TO EXPONOR

With close to five thousand visitors, 300 exhibitors, and many good deals done in the two days of the fair, the Portuguese textile fair was yet another great success. Exhibitors and buyers agree that the Portuguese textile and clothing industry is gaining with the downfall of the Asian supply chain, and highlight the advantages of going back to the origins.

“While, all over the world, more or less violent demonstrations against government restrictions dictated by the pandemic are taking place, in Portugal a very special event returns to Exponor. For two days, more than four thousand professionals linked to the textile and clothing industry did what they do best: work”, wrote the CEO of Selectiva Moda, responsible for the event.

At the end of the 59th edition of the oldest trade show in the textile sector in the Iberian Peninsula, the balance is clearly positive. “What I was told is that foreigner buyers, whose number has also grown, are more active in closing deals than in previous editions”, states the organization, who registered a 15% increase in the number of visitors. “Even foreign buyers, who loved being close to downtown Porto, recognize that this is the ideal place, and much more professional”, adds the CEO of Associação Selectiva Moda.

Also, the interest in manufacturing in Portugal was clearly visible, a result of the production return to Europe, but above all due to the quality, innovation and sustainability of the Portuguese textile and clothing industry.
