The next edition of MODTISSIMO, which will take place on October 7th and 8th, at Alfândega do Porto, will start with an above-average turnout both in the number of exhibitors and foreign buyers. A process leveraged by the guest country of this edition, Austria, who will be represented at the fair by a strong delegation.
“Right now, everything indicates that we will once again break the record for foreign exhibitors and buyers”, says Manuel Serrão, the fair’s director. For the event’s organization, this real invasion of entrepreneurs mirrors the willingness of the textile industry to resume its activity and make its collections known to buyers. The buyers’ registration, free for professionals, was made entirely online, in order to ensure the safety of participants.
The partnership with Advantage Austria has thus resulted in greater advertising of MODISSIMO and the Portuguese manufacturers across borders, a fact that is very welcomed by the organization. “It is the first time that we have a guest country. A proposal that came from Austria itself, and we are already noticing an increase in the number of Austrian buyers, which is ten times higher than usual”, says Manuel Serrão, detailing that “at this moment there are about 40 appointed. It is another initiative that helps us to increase the internationalization of the fair”.
As in previous editions, and with the growing buzz around sustainability in the textile and fashion sector, MODTISSIMO, in collaboration with CITEVE, presents another iTechStyle Green Circle, curated by Paulo Gomes. The innovation centre will also present another edition of the iTechstyle Awards, which reward the best and most disruptive eco-friendly innovations from Portuguese companies and designers.
