Filasa innovates with fibers made from wood

Filasa, a spinning company that belongs to the Lasa Group, is asserting itself as a sustainability pioneer by using Ecovero, Lenzing’s new viscose fiber, throughout its production. The fibers are obtained from sustainable wood and fulfill the Ecolabel‘s strict guidelines, reducing in half the water expense and the gas emissions, when compared with the generic viscose.

A special production system allows the identification of the EcoVero fibers in the final product, making it possible for retailers to ensure their product’s sustainability. After being the first spinning company to use sustainable cotton, joining the BCI (Better Cotton Initiative), Filasa continues to score points in sustainability.
