Portuguese innovation awarded at ISPO

The dense snow blanket that covered Munich on Sunday, ISPO’s first day, did not dampen the enthusiasm of the more than 40 Portuguese exhibitors present, who on the trip home brought some orders, a lot of hope and a bag full of prizes.

It was the first time that the From Portugal embassy was present in three pavilions – in A1 (100 square meters that showed what best our companies had brought to the most important sport products’ world fair) and in the B3 and C5 with two very airy and imposing Sport Villages that attracted the visitors’ attention.

It was also the first time that the From Portugal embassy was honoured with so many awards in Munich. At the ISPO Awards, Berg collected an unprecedented Product of the Year, awarded to the 100% biodegradable Sordo boots (after disposal, in six months they disappear completely into Nature), and a Gold Award, with the Gerês coat, from the Zero Gravity line, made from 100% recycled material.

At the ISPO Textrends competition, the jury gave awards to 22 samples from five Portuguese companies: Tintex (a Best Product), A. Sampaio & Filhos (11 winning samples, of which two Top 10), LMA (five distinctions, one of them Top 10), Gulbena (four distinctions, one of them top 10) and NGS Malhas (a selected sample).
