After seeing its last edition cancelled due to the Covid-19 containment measures, in March, Portugal Fashion returns for its 47th edition, which will take place between September 15th and 17th at Alfândega do Porto, this time in hybrid version (physical and digital). Although atypical, this edition promises to show all the vitality of Portuguese fashion with 24 shows and performances, in which the spring-summer 2021 collections of designers, brands and young creators will be revealed.
In an edition that marks the 25th anniversary of Portugal Fashion, the debut of the duo Ernest W. Baker at the event stands out, as well as the participation of renowned designers Alexandra Moura, Alves / Gonçalves, David Catalán, Hugo Costa, Júlio Torcato, Luís Onofre, Maria Gambina, Marques’Almeida, Miguel Vieira, Katty Xiomara and Sophia Kah, among others. The complete program can be found here.
“The health crisis lead to profound changes in the event, embodied in new models of organizing the fashion shows and interacting with the public”, explains the Portugal Fashion director, Mónica Neto.
The event will adopt a hybrid model, alternating between physical and digital, a strategy that was also implemented in Portugal Fashion’s international shows in September, during the London and Milan fashion weeks.
For that, the organization created the Portugal Fashion TV Digital, an online platform that will continuously ensure the transmission of the fashion shows in live-streaming, but will also include a diversified fashion program, with interviews, news and other digital content.
To better protect the public and ensure health security at the event, access to the 47th Portugal Fashion will be restricted to a professional audience and will never exceed 200 people per fashion show.
