MANGO MORE THAN DOUBLE ITS MANUFACTURERS IN PORTUGAL

As a result of its production proximity policy, the Spanish brand Mango significantly strengthened its supply chain in Portugal and Spain throughout 2021. The 19 manufacturers that it had in our country in 2019 increased to 57 by the end of last year.

Toni Ruiz, Mango’s CEO, says that this process will intensify throughout 2022, in part due to the strengthening of the production proximity, but also as a way to react to the turmoil in the supply of raw materials and in transport circuits. The goal is to “concentrate production in the Mediterranean, in countries like Portugal, Morocco or Turkey”, as the brand explained to the Spanish newspaper Expansion.

As part of its commitment to transparency and sustainability, at the end of last year Mango began disclosing the list of factories in its global supply chain, being the first large company in the fashion sector to do so.
