LTDYE ADVANCES WITH INNOVATIVE DYEING, ALMOST WATERLESS

Focused on dyeing in finished garments, LTdye is preparing to take a substantial step forward on the sustainability path with an innovative dyeing process that drastically reduces the consumption of water, energy, and chemical products. Cloud Dyeing can reuse 100% of the water from industrial effluents.

It is “an innovative and revolutionary dyeing process developed in the company, which dyes almost without water since it represents a 70% reduction in water consumption, but also a 40% reduction in energy, and 25% on chemical products”, explains Luís Sampaio, company administrator.

Most Portuguese companies already use this process, and the novelty will be at the next Heimtextil. LTdye will show a video about this new technology at the Frankfurt fair from the 10th to the 13th of January.

On the labels of each piece, customers and buyers will find a QR Code that directs them to the video, which, in addition to explaining the innovative Cloud Dyeing process, also presents the company.

Operating in the municipality of Trofa for ten years, LTdye Lavandaria e Tinturaria, S.A. dedicates itself to laundry and industrial dyeing, presenting itself as a leader in dyeing home textiles in Portugal.

Having made substantial investments for its modernization and expansion, the company already has more than 80 employees and the guarantee of several certifications in the environmental and energy efficiency areas, such as Gots, Oeko Tex, Join for Life, and Care For Fiber, Water, and Planet.

With the concern to reduce energy consumption and the biomass-powered steam generation system adoption, the company has also become more competitive, practically having quintupled its turnover in recent years. Turnover is based 100% on dyeing the finished garment, which is directly or indirectly exported entirety, particularly to the Inditex group.
