Impetus Group contributed to the look of the winning designer of the CTF Awards 2024 competition. British designer Yakubu Stapleton was challenged to create a look as part of the CTF Awards using 10m of artificial cellulose fibre fabric supplied by the Portuguese company, which is also a selected innovation partner of the competition, together with Circulose.
‘We are delighted to announce Yaku as the winner of the CTF Awards 2024. Yaku’s work for the CTF Awards stands out for its innovative, creative and deeply personal approach,’ the organisation announced on Linkedin.
For the construction, the young designer was inspired by sculpture techniques, as well as the Afrofuturism movement and video games. ‘The design weaves realism, narrative and futuristic elements with unisex appeal, making it an iconic piece with an incredible use of material provided by the Impetus Circulose group,’ he continues.
The results were on display on 14 and 15 May in Milan. The aim of the talent competition organization with the initiative is to ‘promote the use of bio-based and recycled materials, while establishing long-term partnerships between emerging designers and potential partners’, in this case of sustainable raw materials.
