FORTEAMS LAB GIVES A SECOND LIFE TO DEAD STOCKS

There are already more than a dozen new products in the upcycling line launched by FORteams LAB as part of its accelerator and sustainability program. Through the LOOP project, the company proposes to recycle, reuse and give new life to materials, thus guaranteeing its customers the recovery of everything unsold during the season. “What they don’t sell, we recover”, says Pedro Santos, CEO of the company, leader in sports merchandising, which supplies the biggest clubs and national teams.

Once the season is over, scarves, t-shirts, caps, or other items associated with clubs return to the factory to create new products. Pedro Santos points, as an example, to the new line of sweatshirts with a built-in scarf, created for clubs like Olympique Lyon or Hellas Verona, using the merchandising products recycled from previous seasons. Alongside this, there is also a new upcycling line, with caps, hats, t-shirts, fanny packs, and travel or computer bags that result in off-season products. “We have a solution for all dead stocks”, reinforces Pedro Santos.

Developed by the FORteams Ideas and Innovation Laboratory to accelerate processes on the path to sustainability, this is one of the aspects of the LOOP project. In addition to changing its corporate name – it became FORteams LAB – production waste use and conversation into new raw materials. Moreover, FORteams has the ambition to achieve carbon footprint neutrality by 2030.

Leader in the manufacture and supply of textile merchandising for the biggest clubs and national teams around the world in various sports, FORteam Lab has a squad of around 100 people and an installed capacity to manufacture up to 12 thousand pieces per day. The 2022 accounts should close with a turnover above five million euros.
