TINTEX BETS ON LEATHER GOODS WITH RITA SÁ COLLECTION

A capsule collection of backpacks, bags and other accessories is the way chosen by Tintex to showcase their potential in the area of leather goods. The company has joined forces with designer Rita Sá to create an entirely new collection, highlighting some of the materials and sustainable processes the company has been developing.

“Easier than saying it, is showing it in our products”, elucidates Pedro Magalhães, Innovation Manager of Tintex, about the company’s decision of creating an accessories line. “The company started on dyeing, but also boasts a vast portfolio of other coatings, and with this collection we show how they can be applied to items such as rucksacks”, he adds.

Besides the B.Cork – a cork coating developed by the company from the Cork.a.Tex project – the collection shows the use of several processes, nearly all of them more sustainable. “An example is the coating in water-based polyurethane with no solvents. Not only is it more ecological, it’s also safer for the user”, explains Pedro Magalhães.

To the public, the collection will be revealed by Rita Sá. The designer, graduated from ESAD Matosinhos and recently awarded at the Rebelpin Fashion Awards (in the Public’s Choice category), will make the capsule collection available through a digital platform.
