RIOPELE INVESTS IN AI SYSTEMS FOR QUALITY CONTROL

Committed to digitization, Riopele invested in an artificial intelligence system for quality control to streamline its fabric inspection processes. The project started in the weaving area with the installation of this system on 13 looms. The 13 looms are capable of detecting any imperfections in the fabrics.

It is “an innovative technology that integrates an automated quality control system based on computer vision with the respective software supported by artificial intelligence models. The software detects in real-time defects in every centimeter of the fabric”, advances the company from Pousada de Saramagos on its official website.

According to José Rosas, responsible for weaving, this system detects “horizontal defects, vertical defects, and stains”. “Defects are recognized through parameterized styles for each item by adjusting the sensitivity of values reported in a previous set of photographs for each item in production”, he adds.

Investment in increasingly advanced equipment will continue so Riopele can respond to more types of yarn, patterns, and colors.
