The Portuguese company Paula Borges has just made a new investment of half a million euros in machinery, software and hardware aiming to keep up with the most recent innovations in luxury clothing manufacture. Internationally renown by the detail in which it works the fabrics the company is now able to manufacture sophisticated knitwear, which opens the doors to a new offer.
The year is only halfway through, but the company’s perspectives are the best. Thanks to new investment the company expects a substantial growth in income. “This year we have invested in new machinery which, among other things, allows us to work in sophisticated knitwear which we didn’t do until then. The experiment started with a unique client and today we have several who, besides fabrics, request items in high-quality knitwear”, says Paulo Faria, the company’s commercial director. Paula Borges is located in Maia and has a subsidiary in Baião.
Paulo Faria believes the investment is justified with the increase in demand the company is witnessing. “We receive projects on a daily basis that, unfortunately, we cannot accept”, reveals the commercial director of Paula Borges, regretting the current lack in human resources in the textile and clothing sector.
