MODTISSIMO 60+1 promoted “high-quality contacts”

MODTISSIMO 60 had set the bar very high, but the +1 edition broke all records: exhibitors, total visitors, and foreign visitors. “But the most important thing was not the quantity, but the quality of the contacts established, as we could see from the conversations held with the exhibitors”, summarized Manuel Serrão, CEO of Selectiva Moda, the organizing entity.

Even so, the numbers assume an unavoidable weight: the total number of visitors stood at 5,163, which compares with the 4,854 of the 60th edition (a growth of 6.4%) – the growth of the 60th edition almost double compared to the 59th edition (3.7% compared to the 4,679 visitors at the time). As for foreign buyers, there were 504 at MODTISSIMO 60+1 (3.9% more than the 485 at the 60th edition, which had already grown by 2.1% compared to the 475 at the 59th edition).

“After two days of records, satisfaction was widespread, and everyone wanted to encourage the commitment of MODTISSIMO to internationalization, which pleases everyone”, said Manuel Serrão.

Several exhibitors also said that they would see as “excellent” that MODTISSIMO leaps to the next level: its enlargement. Not only in terms of the capacity to accommodate more companies – so that the queues of those who are no longer able to find a place are not so long every year – but also in other textile segments or even in the upstream and downstream sectors. And they already leave two suggestions: home textiles and tanning.

It was also possible to perceive a general and definitive acceptance of Exponor as the place of excellence for the realization of MODTISSIMO, namely because it allows the use of a concept that proved to be attractive: CITEVE and its stage promoted to the condition of ‘Rotunda da Boavista’ – all the runners of the event converged there.

The edition also had three forums: iTechStyle Showcase, organized by CITEVE with ASM; o Fabric Trends; and the New Talents Forum. Also noteworthy was the presentation of a new thematic magazine of the Sustainable Fashion From Portugal project by ATP – which is indebted to the commitment of Sofia Botelho, executive director – entitled ‘The Green Way”.
