Five Lenzing production units have achieved top marks in the Higg Facility Social & Labour Module certification. Among the topics considered in the audit were parameters such as wages, working hours, and employee´s health and safety.
According to the announcement from the supplier of regenerated cellulose fibres, in 2023 more than 7,200 companies were audited worldwide by Higg FSLM, ‘with Lenzing being among the top 25% of verified facilities. ‘We remain true to our mission and will continue to contribute to a more sustainable and fairer textile industry for all stakeholders,’ said Christian Skilich, of the Lenzing group’s board of directors, quoted in the announcement.
May we remind everyone that one of the company’s objectives for this year is to obtain a valid, independently audited social standard certificate for each of its production units. This certification is one step towards that goal. In all, Lenzing is responsible for 25,292 jobs in five countries.
