JF ALMEIDA PRESENTS ANTI-STRESS SHEET

Anti-stress sheets were the most eye-catching product that JF Almeida took to Heimtextil, presenting its first collection of bed linen, which also includes a vegan bed, where the dyes or softeners haven’t come from animal origin.

Baptized Envigorated, the anti-stress bed line benefits from a negative ion finish, which induces tranquility, a feeling of well-being, relaxing, similar to someone who is by the sea, allowing for a more restful sleep.

“It replaces Xanax”, jokes Joaquim Almeida, founder and the first person in charge of this home textile based in Moreira de Cónegos, adding that the tranquilizing effects of the finish have been proven, developed in-house, withstand up to 15/20 washes. The current challenge consists of increasing its resistance to washing.

Fluff and tablecloths were the comfort zone of JF Almeida, which until now was only in the bed linen segment through its subsidiary Mi Casa es tu Casa.

Conquering America to lessen its dependence on Europe, where it makes 90% of its sales, is the objective of this bet on bed linen, with the first collection traveling in March, crossing the Atlantic to be at Market Week in New York.

It was with two eyes on the US and Canadian markets that JF Almeida took this step, which implies having the capacity to manufacture super-quality products in large quantities, which is beyond Mi Casa’s reach.

“We know it will take time, but we are prepared to respond to large orders”, says the head of JF Almeida. The company invested 25 million euros in increasing its weaving capacity by 30% by investing in state-of-the-art technology looms purchase, new finishes, and energy transition.
