ACATEL STRENGTHENS TRANSPARENCY AND CIRCULARITY

Acatel, a company that belongs to the Impetus Group, has just presented the E*retrace collection, partially developed using post-industrial waste from the group’s own production. “It is a clear evidence of our mission to increase transparency and circularity”, explains Susana Serrano, CEO of Impetus Group’s dyeing, mercerizing and knitting company.

This is a collection developed using post-industrial waste from the Impetus Group and Ecovero fibres. “The products are developed with 30% of the group’s waste. The other 70% are also sustainable fibres”, describes Susana Serrano.

However, it is not just about circularity that the new collection by Acetel is about: it also bets on product traceability. “E*retrace integrates fibertrace technology, which, through a small device, allows tracking the product’s composition”, explains Susana Serrano.

In addition to this collection, Acatel is also presenting a line of compostable prints that “we can return to the earth at the end of its life without any negative impact on the environment”, says the company’s CEO.

The partnership with Colorfix, which, through an innovative technology, is capable of extracting the DNA of a plant or animal and transposing its colour, is another highlight of Acatel’s. “We are talking about a one-to-one r dyeing, which, in terms of water reduction, is absolutely extraordinary. In addition, the used water comes out clean, and can therefore be reused. It is a 100% natural collection with a vegetal finish, 0% chemicals”, completes Susana Serrano.
