In the plan of new textile structures Kevin Rodrigues (CeNTI) showed some of the prototypes created to cutting-edge sectors such as the Automotive one.
João Mendes (A.Sampaio) has brought to light new structures in knit materials geared with multi-risk protection targeted to specialized markets such as workwear and sportswear.
Textile structures to agriculture in extreme environments were also developed. Gilda Santos (CITEVE) gives the example with a suit for the harvest of the prickly pear.
Ricardo Silva (CeNTI) presented an automotive bench able to capture the driver’s biometrical indicators such as weight, blood pressure, temperature and breathing.
Textile alternative to clothing based in vegetal waste presented by Augusta Silva (CITEVE).
In home-textiles, José Silva (CeNTI) presented a mattress protection with a heating / cooling system to provide well-slept nights all year long.
Circular Economy was the central theme of the last group of innovations presented. Among them the new materials created by ERT from EVA and leather waste.
Texboost originated a display of tangible examples of textile innovation. More than 70 solutions are in exhibition in CITEVE’s atrium.
