Villafelpos is moving towards decarbonization

GreenVilla is the name of Villafelpos’ energy transition project for decarbonisation. The investment is around 780,000 euros and aims to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by optimising humidification systems, installing photovoltaic solar energy production systems, among other things.

Rafael Galvão, Villafelpos’ financial director, told T Jornal that batteries are currently being implemented. ‘The technology is always changing. We’ve been waiting to decide on the best alternative for accumulating energy,’ he says.

The company is also starting a new project to increase production capacity, which includes the acquisition of new and more efficient machinery. ‘This investment will allow us to provide even better quality to our customers,’ he said.

In Rafael Galvão’s words, 2024 is proving to be a fluctuating year, ‘not very predictable, but going well’. The main markets are Europe and North America. ‘The strategy is to diversify in order to mitigate risk. We also have a very flexible structure, of around 100 employees, which allows us to respond to adversity in a way that larger companies can’t,’ he concludes.
