Vilarinho will return to Milano Unica with a collection centred on material authenticity, presenting its Autumn/Winter 2027-2028 proposal under the theme “Authentic Matter”. Marking the company’s second participation in the Italian trade fair, the Portuguese textile manufacturer aims to reinforce its position in the premium fabrics segment with a more focused and curated presentation.
The new collection explores the value of authentic materials in a market increasingly shaped by speed and standardisation. Through surfaces with depth, brushed textures, compact constructions and sophisticated blends of natural and recycled fibres, Vilarinho proposes what it describes as “a more honest, sensory and timeless vision of elegance.”
“This is authentic matter,” the company summarises, highlighting its commitment to fabrics that combine tactile richness with responsible material choices.
Following its debut at Milano Unica, Vilarinho returns with a clearer strategy. While its first participation was primarily an opportunity to introduce the company to the international market, this edition will place greater emphasis on storytelling, using the “Authentic Matter” concept to communicate the identity behind its fabrics.
“We see MU as a key platform to build credibility in the premium segment,” the company explains.
Among the highlights of the collection are compact wool-blend fabrics incorporating recycled fibres, enhanced with brushed finishes and a dry hand feel. These developments are designed to balance premium aesthetics with sustainability requirements. Vilarinho also expects strong interest in fabrics featuring intentionally irregular, tactile surfaces, where texture becomes a defining element of the material’s identity.
Looking beyond the event, the company hopes buyers will remember Vilarinho as “a technical partner from Portugal that creates fabrics with a distinct identity and lasting presence,” combining industrial heritage with technical innovation while delivering quiet quality through carefully crafted details.
Vilarinho’s participation in Milano Unica is part of the internationalisation strategy of the Portuguese textile industry, providing the company with another opportunity to strengthen relationships with international buyers and further establish its presence in one of Europe’s leading premium textile sourcing events.
