TMG Automotive and Riopele were distinguished with the first prize at the Kaizen Awards 2023, in the categories of Operational Excellence in Industry and Sustainability, respectively. Copo Têxtil, Tearfil, Farfetch and Salsa are four other textile and clothing companies that are part of the winners’ club.
‘This is a significant milestone for TMG, highlighting our dedication to daily innovation and continuous improvement,’ says the company led by Isabel Furtado, in an announcement. The Operational Excellence category recognises projects with results in terms of increasing productivity, improving efficiency, simplifying tasks, and reducing lead times, among other criteria.
‘It’s a demonstration of our hard work and dedication. We are proud to be leading the way towards sustainability in the fashion sector and setting new standards for the industry,’ commented Riopele. This category awards companies that have defined sustainability strategies with quantified impacts on the three ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) components.
All categories are open to any organisation, public or private, SME or Large Company, regardless of sector. Having two textiles win the podium in two different categories is proof of the industry’s efforts to implement best practices.
