TINTEX EXPECTS A 30 PER CENT REDUCTION IN WATER CONSUMPTION

Tintex Textiles is studying and testing auxiliary dyeing products that improve efficiency in dyeing and washing to reduce its water consumption. It is expected that these efforts will lead to a reduction of around 30 per cent in the company’s consumption over the next two years.

” To achieve this goal, and to be able to reuse the water in the dyeing plant, a pilot unit for recycling industrial water has been installed that works through the reverse osmosis process,” the Vila Nova de Cerveira company shared with T Jornal.

It also installed partial meters to measure consumption in three sectors of the factory: dyeing, finishing and coating. “At Tintex the average water consumption is around 115 litres per kilo for the production of one knitted fabric,” they say.

With the signature ‘Naturally Advanced’, Tintex has integrated sustainability into its strategy. “There is constant monitoring of the entire production process, from the water that is collected to the effluent generated,” they emphasize.
