Balutêxtil, Brito Knitting, Fiorima, Magma Têxtil and Soeiro are this week engaging directly with the US market at Première Vision New York (July 15–16), under the umbrella of the project Sustainable Textile & Apparel From PORTUGAL, promoted by ATP – Associação Têxtil e Vestuário de Portugal. The initiative reinforces the internationalization of Portuguese textile and apparel companies, with a strong focus on sustainability, innovation, and the global recognition of “Made in Portugal.”
At a time when American consumers increasingly value product origin, process traceability, and environmental commitment, the Portuguese presence at the fair aims to position the national industry as a trusted, creative, and responsible partner. The five companies are presenting their latest apparel proposals, highlighting sustainable raw materials, technical versatility, and aesthetic differentiation — particularly tailored for the Autumn/Winter season.
Among the participants, Soeiro shared with T Jornal some of its highlights: a carefully curated selection that demonstrates the company’s ability to work across different style universes — from urban casual to feminine romantic — using materials such as cotton, organic cotton, wool, recycled polyester, lyocell, and modal. “Our proposals illustrate our skill in combining natural and sustainable fibers with elaborate details and distinctive structures that can make the difference in attracting new clients,” noted Antonieta Barbosa.
Balutêxtil, making its debut at Première Vision New York, aims to establish new commercial contacts and showcase a contemporary and versatile collection inspired by sustainable techniques. Based in Barcelos, the company specializes in knitwear manufacturing with over 35 years of experience and a team of around 80 professionals. Positioned as a reliable partner, Balutêxtil offers vertical solutions in sample development, cutting, production, and strict quality control, already supplying both North and South American markets.
In addition to the companies integrated in Sustainable Textile & Apparel From PORTUGAL, other Portuguese firms are also present at Première Vision New York, including Casa da Malha, Cordeiro & Campos, Irmãos Rodrigues, and Marfel – Empresas de Confeções.
