Sourcetextile will be present at the next edition of Munich Fabric Start in a distinctive way: “we won’t be selling anything, just showcasing our sustainable philosophy through a recycled collection, 100 per cent derived from textile waste,” Diogo de Lima, marketing manager, told T Jornal.
“We breathe sustainability!” says Paulo Barbosa, founder, and CEO of Sourcetextile. “As one of the most certified companies in the country, and knowing that sustainability starts with design, this year we’re looking at ‘ waste’ as the starting point for our collection,” he tells T Jornal firsthand.
Dresses, T-shirts, jackets, waistcoats, shorts, and sweatshirts are included in this ‘Upcycling Collection – Nothing Here is Garbage’, which has all kinds of pieces, including sports, basic and premium models.
“It’s a 100 per cent upcycled collection that, far from selling a product, will represent the quality, constant evolution and adaptability of our service at Munich Fabric Start,” says Paulo Barbosa.
“All the pieces have a functional purpose,” notes Diogo de Lima, and serve above all to “appeal to the common sense of brands, to change the mentality of consumers”. An example of the company’s communication directly with consumers is its digital “spokesperson” – “the little fish Toni Pout”, says the marketing manager.
