With a strategy centered on sustainable innovation and the enhancement of Portuguese textiles, Sotegui continues to diversify its offering, strengthening its presence in segments such as loungewear, embroidered home textiles, and, more recently, hospitality. The family-based company from Guimarães has stood out for its specialization in bedspreads, blankets, cushions, and towels — products that combine tradition, comfort, and contemporary design.
The latest collection launched under its own brand Caçoila introduced a loungewear line designed for moments of relaxation at home or in the garden. This proposal aims to showcase to customers the potential of the fabrics produced by the company and, at the same time, give visibility to the creativity and quality of national textiles.
Among the newest offerings are decorative embroideries applied to decorative items made from a cotton and linen blend, with motifs inspired by the sea and summer. This collection, like many others from Sotegui, incorporates reused materials and sustainable solutions, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
The pieces were presented for the first time at the latest edition of Guimarães Home Fashion Week, where the company created a welcoming and visually coherent space, highlighting embroidered bedspreads in which yellow was one of the predominant tones, soft-textured blankets designed for babies, and a selection of high-end products — a sector in which Sotegui already has experience, especially in the American and Nordic markets, and now intends to explore with renewed interest.
Despite current economic challenges, the company remains confident, emphasizing that positioning, quality, and specialization continue to be decisive factors in its relationship with clients. Still, it expresses concern over the devaluation of the dollar and the impact that tariffs may have on the purchasing power of brands and consumers in the United States. In response, it is considering strengthening its presence in other markets, such as Canada, already familiar to the sales team and seen as a viable alternative.
Alongside this, Sotegui revealed to T Jornal that it is developing a project to install solar panels, aiming to ensure greater energy autonomy and reduce the environmental impact of its operations.
