RIOPELE SUPPORTS NAIA’S PARTNERSHIP WITH THE DISSENY COLLEGE

Riopele was one of the two suppliers of Naia Renew Fiber fabrics for the sustainable fashion project developed between Naia by Eastman and the Disseny School in Barcelona this July.

The initiative gave students the opportunity to create garments with Naia fibres and put on a fashion show with them, thus improving their relationship with the supply chain and reinforcing the integration of sustainable practices in an academic context.

‘Education is the pillar of our sustainability strategy,’ said Carolina Wilches, principal application development engineer at Eastman, quoted in an announcement.

Naia Renew fibre is made from 60% sustainably sourced wood pulp and 40% certified recycled waste, which would otherwise go to landfill.

The fibre is biodegradable and thanks to Eastman’s patented technology it is a solution for waste that is difficult to recycle, with the advantage of having a reduced carbon footprint and production in a closed circuit.
