Riopele created a sustainability matrix that helps customers make decisions for new collections. This new document contains “information on the origin of raw materials, the type of fibers on the market and associated technical characteristics”, it says in a statement.
“Environmental impacts and existing certifications” are also part of consumer information – an area that European industry wants to see sponsored by common funding – in order to disseminate information and induce sustainable purchases in European markets.
With this initiative, Riopele wants to involve and get closer to its customers: “The creation of a close relationship with customers in a collaborative work approach has allowed us to continue to grow in the international market”, says president José Alexandre Oliveira.
As a target for 2027, the company based in Pousada de Saramagos aims, among others, to achieve carbon neutrality, full use of textile waste, and have 80% of products aligned with sustainability.
