Impetus has two new homewear sets for men and women made from recycled fibres. They are called Revive and are developed from the group’s industrial waste and Good Earth Cotton, the first cotton from regenerative agriculture.
‘Revive is more than mere loungewear, it’s a movement towards a more conscious and eco-friendlier lifestyle,’ reads the product description available on the website. The shirts and trousers are produced with a fusion of GEC and N-LYFE, in a 70% and 30% distribution, respectively.
N-LYFE is a traceable yarn that incorporates 30 % industrial cellulosic waste. ‘By making this yarn we are reusing approximately 70% of waste, the equivalent of 40 tonnes.
In the presentation of this new product, Impetus even makes a comparison with conventional cotton, with the aim of showing the advantages of choosing sustainable options.
‘Our LCA shows that Revive’s carbon footprint is 5.9kgC02e, whereas using conventional cotton the result would be 13.5kgCO2e. This means that this article offers a 56% reduction in carbon footprint,’ they say. The analyses also show water savings of around 71%, they conclude.
