With the ambition of leveraging all aspects, RDD Textiles joined forces with Clothius in a new project that will be presented at ISPO 23 between the 28th and 30th of November to demonstrate the potential of the two companies. “Combined with the opportunity and the challenge of entering a new market, a new project was born – circular meshes developed for an active market”, Rute Santos, Head of Business and Product Development at RDD, revealed to T Jornal.
RDD works mainly with circular knits developed with cellulosic fibers, in this project, the approach was a little different. “We consider raw materials that we do not normally use, and we try to maximize this use by combining and leveraging the different knitting technologies that we have available at Clothius”, said Rute Santos.
“We are not just knitwear producers. We are the player with the agility to optimize and implement different technologies and products in different companies in the Valérius universe. It is from these synergies that the RDD product is born: disruptive, tested, technically validated, and commercially appealing”, he added. During the fair, a Lookbook will be published presenting all the products and technologies developed, along with their corresponding characteristics and functionalities.
In this new project, RDD led the ideation process and definition of preliminary objectives for the products developed, relying on the expertise of the R&D and Product Development teams. In turn, Clothius materialized the idea through the different knitting technologies used.
Since RDD focuses on developing innovative technologies and products, dyeing and finishing technologies will be considered in this project to improve the final product.
