Portugal is set to host the Textile Exchange Conference 2025 from October 13 to 17 at the Lisbon Congress Center. Under the theme “Shifting Landscapes,” this edition aims to take a close look at the challenges that require the textile sector to quickly adapt to new global contexts, combining sustainability, innovation, and sourcing strategies.
In addition to sessions and networking opportunities, the organizers plan visits to local producers, giving participants the chance to explore the behind-the-scenes workings of Portugal’s textile industry.
Among the scheduled visits is a trip to Tearfil to learn about the process of transforming fiber into yarn, accompanied by a panel discussion featuring RDD Textiles and Adalberto Textile Solutions.
Other field trips are expected to take place in Barcelos. Positive Materials has already announced its participation on social media, alongside ATB, providing a comprehensive view of the supply chain—from spinning and dyeing to the state-of-the-art solutions displayed in their showroom.
It is important to note that the list of visits is not yet fully confirmed, and additional companies and participants may be added in the coming weeks.
The conference will begin by defining a strategic direction for a regenerative and equitable materials economy, focused on aligning science-based strategies with industry practice.
The second day will be dedicated to exploring interventions and enabling contexts, with an emphasis on policies and verification mechanisms that accelerate progress.
On the final day, sessions will focus on interconnected geographies and supply networks, analyzing how to drive innovation collaboratively.
Confirmed exhibitors include leading names such as Better Cotton Initiative, Bluesign Technologies, Circ, Circulose, FibreTrace, Lenzing Group, Naia by Eastman, Re&Up, Recover, Regenagri, The Lycra Company, and YKK.
The organizers also revealed that major international fashion brands will be present, including Adidas, Balenciaga, Burberry, C&A, Carhartt, GANT, H&M, Inditex, Kering, Lacoste, Levi Strauss, Lululemon, LVMH, Moncler, Patagonia, PVH, Richemont, Stella McCartney, The North Face, Tory Burch, among others.
