PORTUGAL TAKEN THE STAGE TO RECEIVE ISPO AWARDS

A shower of awards for Portuguese textiles is what we can call the ISPO Awards, which took place on November 29th at the ‘Pink Stage’ at ISPO Munich. A. Sampaio & Filhos, Acatel, Carvema, LMA, RDD, Têxteis JF Almeida, and Somani were the companies awarded at the ISPO Textrends Awards, joined in the Apparel Edition competition by FLM, Gulbena, Quinta & Santos and WAT Portugal. Impetus also proved successful with the relevant ISPO Award for Innovation, awarded to a circular strap top.

There were 39 references made in Portugal highlighted in the most varied categories: Street Sports, Base Layer, Outer Layer, Second Layer, Soft Equipment, Jackets and vests, and Pants and tights. Remember that Portugal won two top awards for Best Product in this edition: A. Sampaio and Acatel.

The reference 68630 of A. Sampaio was distinguished in the Street Sports category, a multifunctional fabric that “serves nature and sport”, made 100% from recycled polyamide. “This opaque, dense fabric is gentle on the skin and provides compression. It adapts perfectly to different garments”, says the ISPO organization in a brief description.

Acatel, with its 1836 – Circular Pigmentura, won the jury in the Accelerated Eco category. Circulose composes the mesh, “a sustainable, soft, comfortable, absorbable, durable and circular fiber”, combined with recycled cotton. The company, led by Susana Serrano, explains that “Ecological pigmentation does not require water to lather and rinse”, thus saving “96% of water compared to conventional dyeing”, as well as “60% less energy”. The result is a mesh with a fluorescent color dye, as you can see here. The reference in question also has “a combination of heat absorption capacity and moisture management, for thermoregulation, in addition to an anti-odor finish”. The competition results can be consulted in full here.
