As the next edition of Milano Unica approaches, the fair is already in an advanced stage of presenting trends through its e-Milano Unica Connect platform. For MU43, a series of inspirational themes explore diverse visual and sensory universes where textiles interact with lifestyles, architecture, nature, and memory. Across these narratives, numerous Portuguese companies emerge as creative references, highlighting the growing influence of Portugal’s textile industry on international trend forecasting.
“Slow mornings” are described as heartwarming moments of calm, whether spent preparing something at home, enjoying time outdoors, or lingering over breakfast and a good book. Within this atmosphere, the lightweight and neutral jerseys of Brito Knitting are referenced for evoking the comforting sensation of waking up wrapped in bed linen, accompanied by a warm coffee and a favourite read.
“In the suspended stillness of a loft, light filters through large industrial windows, drawing soft geometries across surfaces marked by time and authentic materials.” Within this setting of brick, metal, and raw wood, the textures of fabrics developed by Somelos are used as a reference point. Meanwhile, the checked patterns of Texser echo the rhythm of brickwork, transforming walls and furnishings into a coherent and dynamic composition.
“At any moment of the day, thoughts fade, the mind relaxes and imagination rises, guided by the silent flow of pages from a favourite book.” Soft T-shirts, warm coffee, and the colours of jerseys produced by Casa da Malha become part of this intimate narrative centred on reading and reflection.
With the arrival of autumn, the earth becomes abundant, filling baskets with fruits and mushrooms gathered at a slower pace. Meaty and aromatic porcini mushrooms resting in wicker baskets evoke the sustainable textures of fabrics from LEMAR.
Further along, chestnuts scattered across a wooden table reflect the warm and earthy tones found in the cotton fabrics of TMG Textiles.
Autumn also expresses itself through subtler aromas. Mint leaves and rosemary branches release a freshness that appears to resonate with the soft jerseys of Matias & Araújo.
Finally, the intense colours developed by Fitecom capture the hidden soul of the forest: “a place where light barely penetrates and where someone quietly continues gathering everything the season has to offer.”

Walking through Hungarian streets reveals a tapestry of architectural styles, from Gothic and Baroque to Art Nouveau and Neo-Gothic influences. As evening falls, the Hungarian Parliament glows in golden hues reflected on the river, colouring the cream and deep-blue cotton fabrics of Magma Têxtil.
A Michelin-starred dining experience serves as inspiration for another theme, where every detail contributes to a refined sensory journey. A carefully curated beverage display, with its interplay of colours and geometries, is associated with the patterns developed by ISLA.
In landscapes untouched by light pollution, silence expands and nature asserts itself with majestic stillness. The warm pink hues of fading daylight gently colour snow-covered pine trees, recalling the romantic shades featured in the collections of 6Dias Têxteis.
This theme explores monumental architecture capable of making people feel as small as ants moving through vast geometric patterns. The jerseys of Trimalhas absorb the deep chromatic nuances of urban buildings defined by rigorous geometries.
Situated between India and China, Nepal preserves the spiritual essence of the Himalayas. Within this setting, the knitwear of LMA reflects the intense red tones of the Bhairavnath Temple, whose pagoda-style structure dominates Taumadhi Square in Bhaktapur.
This theme transports visitors to 1950s America, surrounded by chrome details, bright neon lights, and classic automobiles. Vinyl records arranged along white walls create a rhythm of black, white, and red, echoed in the ribbed textures developed by Positive Materials.

Cold winter days inspire a restorative retreat of saunas, heated pools, and relaxing treatments. Recycled fibres from Penteadora appear in shades of blue and beige, evoking the sophisticated contrast of a hotel room featuring a heated outdoor bathtub. Nearby, the deep and magnetic colours of alpine landscapes are reflected in the fabrics of Riopele.
Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, Chicago fascinates through its blend of warmth and severity, where architecture balances functionality with modernist ambition. A road cutting dramatically between two imposing skyscrapers mirrors the geometric patterns developed by Vilarinho.
Through these narratives, MU43 demonstrates how Portuguese textile companies continue to influence the creative language of international fashion and textile trends, positioning their materials not merely as products, but as sources of inspiration capable of shaping stories, atmospheres, and future lifestyles.
