Portuguese companies concluded their participation today in The London Textile Fair and Munich Fabric Start, securing high-quality contacts and new business opportunities. The national presence, reinforced by the ATP project Sustainable Textile & Apparel From PORTUGAL, allowed companies to strengthen relationships with regular clients and attract new buyers, consolidating the visibility of Portuguese fabrics in European markets.
In London, feedback from the second day of interactions was positive. Baltazar Lopes, representing Albano Morgado, highlighted the quality of the engagements, including visits from regular clients and the acquisition of new contacts. “The fair has been less busy, but it remains an important opportunity to connect with the UK market,” he notes.
LMA also ensured its presence at The London Textile Fair, reaffirming its consistent participation over the years. The company acknowledged a reduction in visitor numbers compared to previous editions—especially versus January—but considers the fair an excellent opportunity to strengthen face-to-face client relationships. “This direct contact is essential for reinforcing business relationships,” the company stated, adding that, beyond reconnecting with existing clients, the fair allowed them to meet new brands and establish new contacts in an environment described as “always very positive and full of enthusiasm.”
Despite the slower pace, LMA believes the results will bear fruit in the medium term. One highlight of this edition was the inclusion of its knits in the Trend Forum, which brought additional visibility to the stand and attracted the interest of many visitors. “It is always gratifying to present LMA products, which stand out for their strong technical component, alongside items aimed at the haute couture universe,” the company emphasizes, highlighting the balance between innovation and style that defines it and its ability to meet the demands of the UK market.
Directly from Munich, José António Ferreira reported to T Jornal a dynamic fair, with consistent client presence and new business opportunities, even surpassing previous editions. The company’s sustainable fabrics, displayed in the Fair Forum, have served as a strong attraction for new contacts.
Also in Munich, Mário Ferreira from Vilarinho noted that the edition is proceeding as expected, with stronger demand than the previous collection. He highlighted the positive reception of the company’s proposals, particularly in recycled articles and natural fibers.
Samples displayed in the Fabric Forum, similar to those from LEMAR, proved to be a significant draw for visitors, who subsequently sought more information at the stand.
For Vilarinho, the fairs continue to be opportunities for direct and effective client engagement. The company’s next and final fair of the year will be Première Vision Paris on September 16.
Portugal’s presence in London included Albano Morgado, LEMAR, LMA, and JOF, accompanied by Fitecom, which also presented its catalog at the Business Design Centre.
In Germany, the Portuguese delegation included 6Dias, Bloomati by Carvema, I.T.J.V, LEMAR, M.M.R.A, Troficolor Denim Makers, and Vilarinho, accompanied by Fitecom, Paulo de Oliveira, Somelos Tecidos, TMG Textiles, Vilartex, Sourcetextile, and Top Trends, marking productive days.
The overall assessment of these participations highlights quality contacts, strengthened business relationships, and increased visibility for Portuguese sustainable fabrics.
