MOD’UNICA SETS THE STAGE TO DEBATE THE SECTOR’S NEW CHALLENGES

Beyond an exhibition space, Mod’Unica’s debut edition is a space for sharing knowledge and strategies between different players in the textile and clothing sector through a full programme of talks. Several topics of great importance to the sector are already covered, such as the circular economy, digitalisation, automation, artificial intelligence and new professional skills.

The ‘Mod’Unica Talks’ stage will feature names such as Susana Serrano, CEO of Circular Strategy, who will talk about the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive; Luís Ramos (CITEVE) and Ricardo Silva (Tintex) – the pair will present the ITV Decarbonisation Roadmap as part of the RDC@ITV project; Assunção Mesquita (CITEVE) – will share the Textile and Clothing Sector Sustainability Report – and Helena Vilaça (CITEVE) – will present the results of the Waste2BioComp project.

AE Minho will also contribute to the programme with two talks on the 26th: ‘Sustainability and Circular Economy in the Textile Sector’ at 10.30am and ‘Digital Transformation: Artificial Intelligence and Automation in the Textile Industry’ at 3.30pm. The stage closes with the presentation of the book ‘Happiness is Profitable’ by Ricardo Costa. There will also be: a talk as part of the DIGI4Fashion project on ‘Productivity in ITV with Process Automation’, promoted by CITEVE, the TEXAD project, and another intervention on ‘The Professionals of the Future’, organised by MODATEX.

For the second day, the organisation has confirmed to T Jornal that Daniel Agis, Pedro Garcia (MAAB Consulting), Pedro Guimarães (MODATEX) and Elsa Dionísio (Fashion Business Management) will be speaking, as will the Observatório Resíduo Têxtil, Humana Portugal, the Department of Textile Science and Technology at the University of Beira Interior and, once again, the Associação Empresarial do Minho. Talks are also planned under the RESOTEX, VETRINE and Metaskills4TCLF projects.

‘We have sought to invite strategic and dynamic partners so that they can bring valuable and inspiring insights to our audience of ITV professionals. We believe that the talks will provide an excellent opportunity to share knowledge about market trends, innovation, sustainability, digitalisation, global challenges and opportunities,’ comments Ana Paula Dinis, as ATP’s general director. The programme can be followed on the fair’s website.
