MIGUEL RAMÔA TO SPEAK AT INVESTOR FORUM 2024

Adalberto’s head of innovation & sustainability, Miguel Ramôa, will be speaking at the Investor Forum 2024, an event integrated in the Impact Festival, which takes place on 30 and 31 October in Frankfurt.

Under the theme ‘Financing Innovation in Sustainable Chemistry & Textiles’, Miguel Ramôa will talk about green chemistry. ‘ISC3, which is responsible for organising the forum. It’s an institute that is part of the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and was set up to work on the green transition. It has a very wide range of partners, institutes and start-ups and they challenged Adalberto to be an industrial partner in this discovery of green chemistry,’ Miguel Ramôa told T Jornal.

Petrochemicals are widely used in industry and our mission is to find solutions that replace them without compromising on performance. It’s the big multinationals who have the power to make this green chemistry, but it’s good for Portugal to be a partner in this search for solutions that facilitate the green transition, to know how we will incorporate them into the industrial process,’ he continues enthusiastically.

Adalberto already has some bio-based processes, but wants to reach 100 per cent, he adds. ‘We want to be aggregators of knowledge, we want those who have solutions to come to us to check them out, both those who are starting out and those who have technology already at scale 4 or 5 of development,’ he says.

The innovation director also concludes that Portuguese T&C industry needs to be united so that knowledge can be passed on from the inside to the outside. ‘We have so many good companies, we should create disruptive innovations from Portugal to the world,’ he urges, ‘we are the first generation to have the power to cross-reference information, with technology at our disposal, why not create synergies, re-engineer processes…’ he says.

Thomasine Dolan Dow (MII), Sophia Escheu (Speedinvest), Thomas Rehmet (Uni Reutlingen Centre for Entrepreneurship), Thomas Wanner (ISC3) and Alexis Bazzanella (ISC3) are also on the panel. Miguel Ramôa will also participate as a jury in a pitch sale challenge launched by the organisation.

It should be noted that the Impact Festival is one of Europe’s largest B2B events for sustainable innovation, and this Portuguese representation is essential for bringing the good name of the Portuguese textile industry to participating companies and investors and to create synergies to boost economic transformation.
