On Friday, October 24, another Portuguese presence at MarediModa, the leading international trade fair for fabrics and accessories in the swimwear, lingerie, and athleisure sectors “Made in Europe”, came to a close. Portugal was represented by LEMAR, East Ocean, and FLM, participating under the Sustainable Textile & Apparel From Portugal project promoted by ATP – Associação Têxtil e Vestuário de Portugal.
The 2025 edition recorded a 3% overall increase in attendance compared to the previous year, with greater representation from mid-to-high-end and luxury buyers, particularly from Italy (30%), France, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Germany, according to the fair organizers.
Despite the positive outcome, LEMAR highlighted that the fair’s changing schedule—traditionally held in January but recently moved forward to December, then November, and now October—may have slightly affected usual attendance. Nevertheless, the company considers MarediModa “an important fair for our commercial strategy, and we plan to continue participating.”

The Portuguese presence in Cannes marked another step in the international promotion of Portugal’s textile industry, which continues tomorrow in Germany with the Performance Days fair. Companies exhibiting under the ATP project include: A. Sampaio & Filhos, Casa da Malha, Comfysocks, LMA, Lunartex, NGS Malhas, Sidónios Malhas, and WAT. Other participating companies are Impetus, Nextil Group, Positive Materials, TMG, and Vilartex.
