JF ALMEIDA IMPLEMENTS ‘AMBITIOUS’ TRAINING PROGRAMME

In recent months, JF Almeida has publicized extracts from its in-house training programmes. To T Jornal the company talks about an ‘ambitious training programme’, which aims to train employees in all of the company’s production processes.

‘This training programme is more than just technical training – it’s an opportunity for our employees to gain a comprehensive view of the entire operation, to understand the impact of their work on the final product and to share ideas,’ says Juliana Almeida, from the administration.

‘The first phase has already involved training around 50 employees in key sectors such as spinning, weaving and the laboratory,’ says Marília Duarte, who is in charge of training management. The project will gradually be extended to the dyeing and clothing sectors over the coming months.

‘With this programme we also want to respond in the coming months to the challenge of finding qualified professionals with direct experience in production and on the shop floor,’ she adds. For this purpose, they are using older, more experienced employees as trainers and tutors for the new team members. ‘This apprenticeship model not only guarantees an effective transfer of knowledge, but also creates a spirit of co-operation and continuity within the company,’ she points out.

A vision shared by Juliana Almeida: ‘We want to capitalize on the vast knowledge of our older employees, who have been essential. This intergenerational transmission of knowledge allows us to ensure the continuity of the quality and efficiency of our processes,’ she concludes.
