Isabel Furtado wins Dona Antónia award

Isabel Furtado, CEO of TMG Automotive and president of COTEC Portugal, was honored at the 31st edition of the Dona Antónia Prize, an award established by Sogrape (a wine multinational based in Portugal) that is the most important in the country in terms of awarding women’s entrepreneurship and excellence.

Distinguished with the Career Consecration Prize, Isabel Furtado mentioned her “gratitude and deep honor” for being part of a list of “remarkable women” distinguished with the prize. Among them are Maria Barroso, Teodora Cardoso, Leonor Beleza, Maria da Purificação Tavares or Isabel Mota, amid many others.

“In this modern and troubled times, politically and socially, it‘s our duty, as women and especially as agents of change, to contribute to a more balanced, ethical and transparent world,” she said.

Artur Santos Silva, president of the jury, highlighted Isabel Furtado’s role in transforming Têxtil Manuel Gonçalves (TMG) into one of the main European technical textiles groups for the automotive industry, pointing to her “great leadership”.
