Inovafil took a new Australian merino wool fibre, 100% traceable, to Performance Days. Eqwools ‘is a fibre with physical characteristics very similar to cotton, but in short-spun form,’ said Rui Martins, managing director, highlighting the traceability of the material, guaranteed by FibreTrace technology.
‘The partnership with Positive Materials and Michell’s Wool is a year old and has been sponsored by Woolmark. We presented two samples in Germany that aim to incorporate as much wool as possible,’ he continued. Rib and Jersey 50/50 is one of the proposals and Interlock and Jersey 60/40 another.
Temperature regulation, flame retardant and the fact that it is a natural fibre are the main qualities highlighted by Rui Martins, which features a transition in the market: more performance is being sought and preference is being given to European production, he notes.
‘I hope this market segment grows and allows us to broaden our range of products,’ said the CEO, announcing that at Première Vision he will be bringing a new collection made from wool and different blends.
