The first and only Portuguese film festival dedicated to fashion, the Fashion Film Festival, returns in 2021 for its eighth edition, which will be held in the city of Guimarães for the third consecutive year. Technology and technological advances, which provide a new way of making fashion – and, consequently, fashion films – is the theme of this year’s edition.
The contrast between the cinematographic wave and new technologies, which complement each other and enable countless creations, will serve as inspiration for the several categories, such as National Fashion Films by Independent Authors, Brand, Technical Textiles, Alive Mobile, International Fashion Films, and Home Textiles Fashion Films, created in honour of the capital of this textile segment and host of the competition: the city of Guimarães.
All unpublished works produced or published between 2019 and 2021 are admitted to the competition, with a maximum limit of 10 minutes per film. All participants can compete with more than one video, whether from the same director, producer or brand.
Entries are free and open until October 11, 2021, and can be made through the festival’s official website. The contest is an initiative of Associação Selectiva Moda, in partnership with the audiovisual producer Farol de Ideias.
