Getting to Know Albano Morgado for Texpremium London

Portuguese textile expertise will once again be on display at Texpremium London, and Albano Morgado is among the companies representing the country’s growing reputation for innovation, craftsmanship and sustainable production. Combining technical know-how with a customer-focused approach, the company continues to support international brands seeking agile and high-quality manufacturing solutions. We caught up with the team ahead of the show to discuss their latest collections, market outlook and the products and innovations visitors should not miss at their stand.

Why should buyers, designers, and sourcing teams visit your stand at Texpremium London?

Baltazar Lopes, responsible for the british market: Because we believe the best fabrics start with the finest natural fibres. At Albano Morgado, we combine nearly 100 years of expertise in wool manufacturing with innovation, sustainability, and a strong product development capability. Visitors to our stand will discover premium fabrics, tailored solutions, and a team ready to transform ideas into value-added products.

Which key trends are influencing your latest collection? What new developments, collections, or innovations will you be presenting at Texpremium London?

We are witnessing a well-established return to natural fibres, driven by a growing appreciation for transparency, genuine sustainability, and the demand for more durable products. Our latest collection reflects these trends through wool fabrics and wool blends with noble fibres such as cashmere, designed to be lighter, more versatile, and more comfortable. These developments respond to the needs of contemporary brands without compromising on quality or environmental responsibility.

What opportunities do you see in the UK market, and how are you already supporting British brands?

The UK remains a highly relevant market for premium-quality fabrics with a strong sustainability focus. We work with British brands that value the proximity, flexibility, and reliability of a European partner. Our mission is to help them develop distinctive collections using exceptional materials and increasingly responsible processes, while keeping the essence of classic British style present and admired throughout our collections.

If visitors only had 60 seconds at your stand, which sample would you show them first and why?

We would show one of our latest wool innovations. It is the best way to explain who we are: a company with deep roots in the Portuguese textile tradition, yet firmly focused on the future. In a single sample, visitors can experience the quality of the raw material, the innovation behind its development, and our commitment to sustainability.
