From Portugal reinforced sustainable brand in PV

With less turnout than in February but customers more focused on the business, Première Vision closed its doors this Thursday and made in Portugal textile reinforced its position as a sustainable and innovative vanguard in European production. As for the anticipation of the event, which used to be in September, the opinions are divided.

“Overall, there were fewer people. But the scheduled meetings took place, we received visits from regular customers and some new customers”, sums up Hélder Rosendo, the Business Manager of TMG. The textile giant this time linked to MGL, its youngest offspring, to display an integrated offer for some exclusive clients of outwear clothing with ready-made pieces.

During the three days of the fair, the lack of Italians is highlighted, for which Nuno Curtinhas, from Lima & Companhia, explains. “The turnout was not that great, and the change of dates from September to July may have had an influence. As it is very close to Milano Única, customers either go to one or the other”, concludes the Technical Director of Lima & Companhia, who reports that he also noticed the lack of Nordic customers.

Although there were not as many as in February, “the visitors are very professional, and arrived with concrete plans and to close deals”, said Miguel Máximo, from TMR Clothing. Miguel Máximo also noted that “of the first four contacts we had, two came from the USA and were willing to fulfill orders”.

A similar statement comes from Lemar, CEO Manuela Araújo affirms that “the third day of the fair was slower, although the rest were busy and with a diversity of markets, but still below expectations”.

From this PV, Fitecom mainly strengthens its ties with its customers: “we receive our regular customers from Spain, England, France, and Holland. I can say that it was 90% of what it was in the pre-pandemic period. After the start, we always had movement”, says CEO João Carvalho.

The manager of Penteadora also expressed an identical opinion. “The fair went well, we are returning to normality, we received mostly European customers, but also some from outside Europe, which is always good”, summarizes José António Teixeira.

In these three days of PV, along with the outstanding From Portugal Forum dedicated to sustainable production, the Portuguese textile was represented with a strong entourage of more than fifty companies, framed in the Committee from the From Portugal project.

The participation of Portuguese SME companies in PV Paris is an initiative of Selectiva Moda and ATP – Associação Têxtil e Vestuário de Portugal, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese companies in the fashion area. The From Portugal project is co-financed by Portugal 2020, within the scope of Compete 2020 through the European Regional Development Fund.
