FROM PORTUGAL COMMITTEE BROUGHT INNOVATION TO MEDICA DUSSELDORF

Another edition of Medica Dusseldorf, the largest medical and hospital equipment fair, happened from November 13th to 16th. Once again, the German lands received a strong From Portugal delegation, which included Axfilia, Dune Bleue, Heliotextil, Mesosystem, Oasipor, Sancar, Trim NW, Trivialtex and Unifardas, accompanied by Raclac and CITEVE.

With more than 40 years of history, Trivialtex and Mesosystem make their debut at this event. Trivialtex sees the medical sector as “Interesting and stable” and an opportunity to reach the Nordic countries and Switzerland. “We want to reach Switzerland, and we are starting to take our first steps there, hence our choice to participate in the fair”, says Cristina Antunes, commercial, speaking to T Jornal.

“The fair is still in its early stages, but we have already had two visits. It is a fair with great attendance. We hope it lives up to expectations”. For Medica, the company from Famalic brought “products that to the medical field, namely textile threads with medicinal properties, such as aloe vera. The threads can be applied to orthopedic garters that allow the skin to breathe and to be nourished, as they incorporate almond oil”, says.

Having been an exhibitor for six years, Oasipor returns to the Medica fair and aims to consolidate already established contacts and gain new ones, especially in the European market, such as Italy, France, and Spain.

“Being here year after year alongside multinational brands is important, as they say: soft water hits a hard stone until it pierces”, begins by saying CEO José Ribeiro, adding that he also meets clients from the Middle East in Dusseldorf. “We also do Arab Health in Dubai, and some clients come to us at this fair”.

The company is presenting disposable products for the operating room, sterile material, with customized pack options. “We invested in new facilities for the personalized kits, syringes, pads, and other disposable surgical covering material production. There are 2500m2 clean rooms for production, in a total of 10 thousand m2 that we have at the Penafiel factory”, shares the director first-hand.

CITEVE was at another edition of Medica to showcase projects linked to the health sector: leggings, bandages, and a pillow with special and unique features are the prototypes on display.

“We are in Pavilion 6 presenting prototypes linked to the health sector that aim not only to provide better recoveries but also better sleep”, said Cristina Castro, representative of CITEVE, explaining the different projects.

“Wear2Heal are leggings that enhance muscle recovery; we also present dressings with textile materials that help with wound healing, Tex4Wounds; and, finally, SmartHealth4All, a pillow that aims to provide better sleep for people who snore or who sleep in different positions”.

The participation of Portuguese companies in ISPO is an initiative of Selectiva Moda and ATP – Associação Têxtil e Vestuário de Portugal, which aims to promote the internationalization of Portuguese companies in the Fashion sector. The “From Portugal” project is co-financed by the European Union, within the scope of Portugal 2030, through the Compete 2030 – Innovation and Digital Transition thematic program.
