Fitexar has been taking part in the Performance Days trade fair for the first time since yesterday. António Alexandre Falcão, managing director, says he is looking for new markets ‘It’s a technical fair with good feedback, where the public already knows what they’re looking for and contacts will be better from the outset,’ he explained.
The company from Arcozelo is exhibiting technical yarns for workwear, sports and the medical field in Munich. ‘As it’s our first time, we’re trying to show as much as we can, with a special focus on elastane-coated yarns. These are yarns that can be used for sports, health and work,’ he told T Jornal.
With sustainability playing a major role in attracting new customers, Fitexar has also invested in publicising its Blue Bioeconomy project – ‘we want to publicise the processing of polyamide yarn that comes from fishing nets,’ said the businessman, hoping to strengthen its presence on the European market.
‘We still have a lot of markets to conquer in Europe, especially in the technical fabrics and knitwear market, where we want to enter. There are many doors to open, we have meetings scheduled with France, Italy and Germany, which are very strong countries in technical fabrics,’ he concluded.
