FAFEDRY HOSTS TEACHERS FROM CAMBRIDGE SCHOOL OF ARTS

Fafedry, a dyeing and finishing company, was recently visited by lecturers from the Fashion Design course at the Cambridge School of Arts, as part of its partnership with Heavy Jeans. In a workshop, the company presented its more sustainable dyeing processes.

‘The fashion team at Anglia Ruskin University was particularly impressed with Fafedry’s finishing alternatives such as ozone-neutralising enzymes, which eliminate as much water, energy and chemicals as possible from the washing and finishing stage,’ says lecturer Mark Hart, quoted in an announcement.

Sarah Graham, also a lecturer, points to the ‘high level of certifications’, all of them accredited, held by Fafedry. ‘The use of natural and mineral dyes approved by ZDHC and GOTS ensures that all dyeing processes are water-saving and energy-efficient,’ adds Wendy Wood, course director, also quoted in the note.

It’s worth remembering that Fafedry had already hosted Cambridge students as part of the same partnership. This time, according to Rui Pedro Freitas, marketing and communications coordinator, the professors bring valuable information: ‘consumer preferences and expectations’. ‘On the other hand, the fashion professors have a broader view of the supply chain and can offer suggestions,’ he concludes.
