DECENIO DRESSES THE PORTUGUESE OLYMPIC ATHLETES

The Portuguese clothing brand Decenio developed the outfits that the Portuguese athletes will wear at the Tokyo Olympic Games, and some competitors even stepped on the runway as models at Portugal Fashion to showcase the new clothing articles. Carla Salomé e Catarina Ribeiro (Track and Field), Emanuel Silva (Canoeing), Evelise da Veiga (Triple Jump), Francisco Belo (Weight Throw), Pedro e Diogo Costa (Sailing), Rui Silva (Handball), Tamila Holub (Swimming) and Tiago Apolónia (Table tennis) joined the professional models.

It is with the clothes designed by Decenio that the Portuguese Olympic delegation will mark their presence at the protocol events, as well as at the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games. “The idea was to create a clothing line that besides being comfortable, highlights the elegance of Decenio”, explains the Portuguese Olympic Committee. Sports equipment, on the other hand, will be made by the Spanish brand Joma.

In white and navy tones, the clothes that the Portuguese team takes to Tokyo highlight “simple silhouettes, but with bold finishes and details, and a sustainable design and production process”. The brand was inspired by the sea journeys of the Portuguese discoverers, as well as by the Portuguese Cross, to develop a collection that uses mostly 100% organic cotton.
