With names such as Agatha Ruiz de La Prada, El Corte Inglès or Inditex amongst its clients, Crispim Abreu was highlighted by Pinker Moda magazine as a reference to the main Spanish brands.
This is yet another report of the magazine’s visit to eight Portuguese textile companies, “a sector made of SMEs with a strong industrial mentality and good health, due to its specialization, dedication to technical products and immense added value”.
The report states that Crispim Abreu “is the one that seems to have a greater relationship with Spanish customers”, and follows to enumerate groups and brands – Ese O Ese, Sita Murt, Inditex, El Corte Inglés and Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada – to prove that the company has been one of the most important references for Spanish brands for a long time.
“Founded in 1981 in the Ave valley, considered the birthplace of the Portuguese textile, by Crispim Abreu, who is still its manager and director, the company’s R&D is supported by an exclusive team that works in cooperation with schools, such as the Biotechnology School of Universidade Católica, CITEVE, CeNTI and the schools of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Universidade do Porto”, writes the magazine.
With a business model that forgoes own brands, “like many Portuguese companies”, Crispim Abreu strength relies on its productive capacity. “It’s not a very glamorous business model, but it works”, wraps up the magazine quoting João Abreu, son of the managers Crispim and Virgínia Abreu (photo), who chaperoned the Spanish reporters during their visit to the company
