CrisHome took part last week in Market Week, in New York, and left with a positive balance. Cristina Teixeira, the company’s CEO, told T Jornal that, despite the tariffs imposed by the U.S., clients did not show much concern regarding Portugal.
“The American market is very price-sensitive, but the focus is mainly on countries with higher tariffs. We need to carry out careful follow-ups to consolidate orders. In the end, it will be the consumer who pays, but business will continue to happen,” she said, while acknowledging some signs of a slowdown in consumption.
For the event, the Portuguese brand prepared a bolder collection than the one presented earlier this year at Heimtextil, betting on dark backgrounds that evoke luxury. “The collection was well received. We wanted to make a difference and surprise clients, and I believe we succeeded,” the executive noted.
The offer focused mainly on bed linen — the segment in which the home textiles company is strongest — including duvet covers, sheets, and other items. In terms of raw materials, CrisHome presented a diversified range, from linen to cotton fabrics.
On the sustainability front, Cristina Teixeira highlighted Tencel, a fiber the company has been working with for about a year and which has seen strong demand. “It is a cellulosic fiber, and therefore sustainable. Very soft and hydrophilic, it absorbs moisture well. It is more efficient than cotton for people who perspire heavily and provides a prolonged feeling of freshness during the night,” she explained.
