Cosmiknit, a knitwear supplier specializing in flat knitting, makes its debut tomorrow at Première Vision Paris. Speaking to T Jornal, Pedro Félix highlights that the company’s main strength lies in the combination of precision and creativity: “Our advanced flat knitting technology allows us to produce highly detailed and complex designs, using carefully selected premium materials for the luxury footwear and accessories market.”
All of Cosmiknit’s raw materials are European, and production is 100% Portuguese, carried out at the company’s factory in Felgueiras. Materials used include polyamide, recycled polyamide, polyester, recycled polyester, Tencel, organic cotton, and PLA—corn fiber. These materials are transformed into complete uppers, applicable to small pieces and also in the textile sector, for the production of collars and ribs.
“Our approach adapts to the vision of each brand without compromising technical excellence. We maintain our commitment to sustainability through the optimization of material use and waste reduction at all stages of production,” adds Pedro Félix.
In 2023, the company had a production capacity of 30,000 pairs of uppers per month, intended for sports or casual footwear.
Currently, Cosmiknit, part of the Shoe Atelier group, is embarking on a new path toward greater flexibility: “The goal is to expand capabilities through machines that allow working with different gauges and developing a wider range of products.” Simultaneously, the company is increasing the number of solar panels at its facilities, strengthening its commitment to clean energy.
Cosmiknit will be showcasing its capabilities until 18 September, as part of the Portuguese participation under the Sustainable Textile & Apparel From PORTUGAL project, promoted by ATP – the Portuguese Textile and Apparel Association, alongside companies 6Dias Têxteis, A. Sampaio & Filhos, Albano Morgado, Brito Knitting, LEMAR, Magma Têxtil, NGS Malhas, Sidónios Knitwear, Troficolor Denim Makers, and Circlo Ecodesign & Circularity.
